ETH (Ethereum) Mining Tutorial

Ethereum, is an open source public blockchain platform with smart protocol functionality. Its cryptocurrency ETH (Ether), is the global digital currency ranking the 2nd one by market capitalization. The Ethereum blockchain has many good applications and prospect.

Currently, ETH is a POW mining cryptocurrency, under the Ethash algorithm, and is supported by GPU miner and some custom-design miners.

Here we will make a specific introduction focusing on how these miners work in F2Pool.

Ⅰ. Obtain the wallet address

【Soft Wallet】:cobo wallet(recommended), Cobo is a wallet application focusing on providing cryptocurrency saving, with convenience, stability, and safety.

【Exchange Wallet】:  ETH is supported by many well-known exchange platform, and you can save your coins through the wallet address which the platform generates.

Ⅱ. Viewing https://www.f2pool.com/user/signup to register the F2Pool account as following the steps, then sign in the F2Pool website, and find “Account Settings” on the top right of the site ,to “add new workers” as below and input your wallet address obtained before to the relevant “mining accounts”. The mining account name is the “username”. one signing in account can be set up with many usernames, and every username can be added different wallet address.

 Tip: Currently, F2Pool supports mining ETH with wallet address and username. However, the revenue of mining through username, with 2.5% fees and PPS+ payout mode, is much higher than mining through wallet address. So we recommend you to sign up an F2Pool account and use a username to mine.

Ⅲ. Obtain the mining software

【F2Pool Version】:[Baidu Disk]       [Mega Disk]

【Original Version】(recommended):[claymore’s miner]     [bminer]

(The mining software under Linux can be obtained in the original version links.)

Ⅳ. Open the downloaded software, and locate on the file named “start”, right click on it and choose “Edit” to configure your mining parameters.

【claymore’s miner parameters】:

For username mining:

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eth.f2pool.com:6688 -ewal username -eworker worker_name -epsw x  -asm 2 -dbg -1 -allpools 1 -mode 1

For wallet address mining:

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eth.f2pool.com:8008 -ewal wallet_address -eworker worker_name -epsw x -mode 1

【bminer parameters】:

For username mining:

bminer -uri ethproxy://username.worker_name@eth.f2pool.com:6688

For wallet address mining:

bminer -uri ethproxy://wallet_address.woker_name@eth.f2pool.com:8008

Please consider your own situation to configure your mining software. If mining through your sign in account, choose the file named “start (username用户名)”, switch the information in red to your own, and then save the file.

If mining through wallet address, choose the file named “start (wallet_address钱包地址)”, switch the information in red to your own, and then save the file.

Please notice: the mining addresses between these 2 methods is different.

For username mining: eth.f2pool.com:6688

For wallet address mining: eth.f2pool.com:8008

Ⅴ. Double click on “start….bat“ file, and start to mine.

Ⅵ. Method of checking revenue and miner status is different between username and wallet address mining.

For username mining,  please sign in your account, and switch the coin type to “ETH” on the top right corner of your home page, and check the mining and the revenue status.

Choose “workers” in the menu on the top of your page, and there you can check all your miners’ status under each username.

and the “payouts” page is for checking the payout details of each sub-account (username).

Tip: There is a “read-only” URL available in the mining account page, generate and save the relevant read-only URL of your account name. Then you can quickly check the miner and overall revenue status by viewing this URL.

For wallet address mining, just input your wallet address and choose the coin type in the searching box on the top right corner of our website, to check your miner and revenue status.
